Blu-Ray Ieri, oggi, domani / Gestern, Heute und Morgen / Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (1963)

The disc seems to have some serious problems with most of the red colors (and some brownish) (see screenshots 2 [the drapes], 6 [the shirt!] and 9 [the car]). There’s a nice level of grain throughout the movie but the reds very often do not have any grain at all just consisting of red blocks that just stay there or change into slightly different colored blocks. A compression problem perhaps? Not enough bits? Perhaps they should have used a 50GB disc and take better care when encoding all those scenes. Even the extra HD trailer for the film Matrimonio all’ italiana suffers from the exact same problem! I hope they can fix that before the Matrimonio all’ italiana disc is released (September 14th 2010). Some may not notice anything wrong while viewing but I was personally immediately distracted by them. :P Not the end of the world I suppose (annoys me though…) but this could (and should) have easily been better.

But apart from the red and perhaps the occasional black and dark blue, I like the way the movie looks. Grain haters should definitely stay away from this one. :D
