Lois Lane's naughty nemesis
It took a skin-filled plunge into the Roger Corman B-factory for the breathtaking Elizabeth Barondes to get the attention she's deserved since her debut in Oscar, a ludicrous 1991 Sylvester Stallone vehicle. Following her quick appearance in the muscle-head's "comedy," the shapely, raven-haired Ms. Barondes snagged a couple of meatier spots in the direct-to-video horror entry Night Hunter and the Generation-X comedy Don't Do It, wherein she portrayed a waitress/phone sex operator. You can give us a call anytime, Liz!

Elizabeth next grabbed a featured role in the 1994 straight-to-tape fave The Cool Surface. Liz must have made a positive impression on star Teri Hatcher, because she soon began popping up in a recurring role as the villainess Lucy in Hatcher's Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman television series. Which brings us up to the B-movie maestro.... Not Of This Earth is Roger Corman's third version of his tried-and-true tale of an extraterrestrial vampire searching for human blood to replenish his dying planet's population (the original was produced in 1957; the first follow-up appeared in 1988, starring a fresh-from-porn Traci Lords). Barondes plays Amanda Sayles, a sexy live-in nurse administering blood transfusions to telepathic alien Michael York. As the job doesn't appear to be that demanding (York spends a lot of time out of the house killing innocent people), our favorite nurse gets a chance to sunbathe topless in her employer's backyard. It's our favorite scene in the campy, sexy flick, and a possible explanation as to why several SKIN staffers came to the company Halloween party dressed as lounge chairs.

After debuting in the outrageously awful Sly Stallone "comedy" Oscar, Elizabeth--like other desperate would-be starlets--accepted work in one crappy project after another. Roger Corman's Not Of This Earth (entire spread) provided her best X-posure until she managed to land a cushy role as the villain Lucy on TV's Lois & Clark.
